Ground chicken/turkey in freezer, what to do?
I've had these two packages of either ground chicken or turkey in my freezer for weeks now and I have no clue what to make with it. I'm a college student so keep in mind I don't have too many other things to cook the chicken/turkey with.

Chili comes to mind, add some tomato sauce, seasonings and a can of beans. Simmer and there's a quick meal with leftovers which you students always love!
2 :
I've used it instead of hamburger to make sloppy joes or cooked it up and added a packet of taco seasoning to make nachos or tacos :)
3 :
Fry it up with taco seasoning and make tacos, nachos, or put in a salad.
4 :
Buy a box of stuffing mix and mix it with the meat. Fry or broil and you have very tasty burgers!
5 :
Brown it and add a jar of spaghetti sauce. Cheap and good.
6 :
Ranch Chicken Loaf If ground chicken isn't available in your grocer's meat case, ask to have some chicken ground; they'll happily do that for you. INGREDIENTS: 2 eggs, beaten 3/4 cup ranch-flavored tortilla chip crumbs 3 Tbsp. salsa 2 Tbsp. ranch-flavored salad dressing 1 tsp. chili powder 1/2 tsp. cumin 1 lb. ground chicken PREPARATION: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, mix together the eggs, tortilla chip crumbs, salsa, salad dressing, chili powder, and cumin. Add chicken and mix gently but thoroughly. Shape into loaf on slotted baking pan or broiler pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour, until internal temperature registers 175 degrees F. Cover with foil and let stand for 10 minutes. Slice and serve with sour cream and more salsa. Turkey Porcupines Porcupines are meatballs which contain rice. The rice cooks along with the meat in a savory tomato sauce. Serve this delicious main dish over more cooked rice. INGREDIENTS: 1 lb. ground turkey 1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice 1 onion, finely chopped 1 Tbsp. olive oil 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 Tbsp. olive oil 1 Tbsp. butter 2 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves 1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves 1 cup water 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce PREPARATION: Cook onion in 1 Tbsp. olive oil until tender; let cool for 15 minutes. In large bowl, combine ground turkey, uncooked rice, cooked onion, salt and pepper and blend well. Shape into 16 meatballs. In large skillet, heat olive oil and add meatballs. Brown carefully, turning gently to cook evenly. Sprinkle sugar, basil, and thyme over meatballs, then pour over water and the two cans of tomato sauce. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 40-50 minutes until turkey is thoroughly cooked, stirring occasionally. 4 servings Tex Mex Turkey Loaf The spiciness of this simple recipe depends on the spiciness of the salsa you choose to use. You could add some shredded Cojack cheese tothe mixture, but that would make it four ingredients! INGREDIENTS: 2/3 cup salsa 1 egg, beaten 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. salt 1-1/4 lbs. ground turkey PREPARATION: In medium bowl, combine salsa, egg, pepper, salt and mix well. Add ground turkey and combine. Form into a 6" round loaf and place loaf on a rack or balled up foil balls in a 3 quart crockpot. Cover slow cooker and cook on low for 4-5 hours, until turkey is thoroughly cooked. 4 servings
7 :
go down to the butcher shop and see if you could trade it in on some ground meat or maybe a steak
8 :
I love ground chicken. My favorite thing to do is make taco meat out of it and make enchiladas. I don't feel as guilty then about all the cheese!
9 :
make burgers out of the turkey/chicken serve them on whole wheat buns and call it close to real food. if you dont have alot of food throw a little pot luck and get your friends to help create a meal like one brings the buns, another brings salad, another brings french fries...you get the point and that way you can have dinner and a visit.. dont forget to invite that one friend who always has money for beer over too. guess what he's bringing? lol

I would do something simple like make spaghetti since you do not have much at your disposal. Brown the poultry and add your favorite sauce. Presto. Also...if you splurge and go out and by grill seasoning or a taste dried soup mix you can add that to the ground poultry, make patties, and cook them up like you normally would do burgers. Top them with ANYTHING and serve on a bun. Mmmm...turkey burgers.
11 :
You can substitute ground chicken or turkey for ground beef in pretty much anything. Spaghetti, hamburgers, chilli... whatever you want!

Are there opportunities for international intern teachers in Turkey?
Are there opportunities for international intern teachers in Turkey?
For my last semester in university, I will need to be a student English teacher. I wanted to do this in Turkey, instead of in my country (Philippines). Would it be possible to find a teaching position (volunteer/unpaid) in Istanbul or Ankara? I understand that there are several ESL schools there which aren't too discriminating about the teachers they take on, but would it also be possible to teach at a regular school (e.g. highschool) even being only an intern teacher? Also, would it be doubly difficult since I am a foreigner? Thanks for your help.

I went to a private middle school in Turkey, Istanbul. In private schools, during high school or middle school they really look for foreign teachers. Because that is when they want you to start to practice talking English. You actually have to talk English in class after sixth grade in my school. n 8th grade we had three teachers. One main teacher(there were only 46 kids in 8th grade) Mrs.Franko who teached us grammar, Mr. Mcdowell for reading and vocabulary, and twice a week Mrs. Luis for speaking(we had 11 english classes- we took english the most) . Only Mrs.Franko was turkish. Mr.Mcdowell was Amerikan and Mrs. Luis was British. So i'm sure you could easily find a job in private schools. You can find one in public schools too but i didn't go to any so i'm not sure. About discrimination part I'm going to be totally honest with you. I don't think you're going to be discriminated because you're foreign because there are many foreign people in Turkey especially in Istanbul. Biggest discrimination you'll face would be if someone thinks you are a tourist and try to sell something more expensive than it is normally, but they don't do that much in Istanbul so I don't think you're going to even face that. Good luck and have fun!

The visa application procedure can take up to two months.

Cannot be answered in general since it depends on the quality of the supporting documents provided. A total of 71 student visa applications have been processed by UK representatives in Turkey during the month of April. The processing time was as follows: 13 visa applications have been processed within 2 working days 10 - 3 days 9 - 1 week 20 - 2 weeks 6 - 3 weeks 9 - 6 weeks 3 - 12 weeks 1 - longer than 12 weeks Note that processing time starts when the application reaches the Embassy or Consulate; not when the biometric data are taken at the WorldBridge application centers. http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/resources/en/docs/10368946/processingtimescustomers ..
