If I have a US student visa, do I need to apply for a visa to Mexico for a 5day vacation?
My boyfriend has a U.S. student visa and wants to come on vacation with my family to Mexico. He's originally from Turkey. Does he need to apply for a tourist visa?

No, if you go to Mexico they automatically stamp you for 6 months.

No need for tourist if its less then 6 months. They'll check the passport at the border and stamp it.

No he does not Mexico allows people to stay in the country for 6 months with no paperwork. All he needs is his passport and student visa to cross the border.

Does his U.S. student visa allow him to leave and reenter the U.S? Not all do. Some of them are issued for one entry into this country only. It never hurts to check with a Consulate or immigration office when in doubt. It would not do for him to leave the U.S. and not be able to get back home. (Many foreign exchange students are issued one-entry student visas to the U.S. He should check to be sure his is not this type.)

I think, when he leaves the immigration office, all he needs is to inform Mexican immigration that he will stay for 5 days. It is Mexican immigration he will have to talk with.Of course, he too has to pass through U.S. immigration, or file a deportation card even if Mexico is just the other side of the border. Best, to consult both immigration. Be very careful, America is just itching to throw all illegals outside their border or outside their sea limit. If I were you people, play safe. This is not the right time. Everything is so hot because of the Arizona Law which targets the illegal. What if he lost his passport, or stolen from him, what then. He definitely will be in for more trouble. Postpone it. Its to hot at this time.

YES! Mexican Immigration Laws are a lot stricter than the United States!!! I wish foreigners would quit using our borders as a see-saw, thinking they can bounce from one side to the other anytime they damn well please!!!! When I was in Europe, I had to carry my passport around with me, and when I stayed at a hotel, the management demanded to see my docoments! Even in my own country!

Is it safe for Israelis to travel around Turkey?
I'm Israeli, I'm a college student and I want to go on a vacation to Turkey with my older brother for a couple weeks. We have never been before, so I just want to ask is there anything to be concerned about and is it safe for Israelis to travel around in Turkey? Is there anything to avoid?

I have a couple of Jewish friends in Istanbul who told me that they are very comfortable there. In fact, when their great grandparents fled Cordoba after being expelled by the Christian it was the Ottoman empire which readily accepted them and provided refuge. I have been to Turkey many times and trust me, they are very humane people in spite of their defensiveness so you are bound to feel welcome there. That said, Islamic fanaticism does exist in some remote areas in Turkey as is obvious from the news. I once attended a wedding at a synagoge in Istanbul and they had to block off the entire road because a madman once opened fire there and killed 29 people. I would advise you to keep a low profile about your Jewish identity in rural area.

I have some Jewish friends in Turkey, some of them live here in Istanbul, some of them are living in Istanbul but from other cities like Bursa, Izmir and Antakya. Turks are in fact tolerant and hospitable people. Even though it was Ramadan - the religious diet month according to the Moon Calendar, I saw lots of people drinking beer and wine on the streets, in the parks, taverns and restaurants...etc. because it's a secular country and nobody can blame anyone on their religious/non-religious preferences.

What universities are the best for geology or earth science?
What universities are the best for geology or earth science?
I am a geological engineering student at METU in Turkey and looking for master program in US. As a master degree, I think about petrolium or energy. Could you please help me which one is the best?

Can anyone in turkey help me to get applications for ankara and Isatanbul state universities.?
I need applications(Application for international/foreign students)for state universities (ankara&istanbul&marmara state universities).the problem is that i can't find these applications or application deadlines for these universities at their websites which are not updated since a year or two.Please i need ur help bout this.I need the applications and the application deadlines. I emailed the universities but they didn reply since 2 months i tried later but no response. Please help me.

Guess No-one has bothered to reply from Turkey, so guess u will have to go to the university or check their website for the applicaiton form and fill it out and hand it in ureself.
