Why don't you apply at: British Embassy 198, Ferdowsi Avenue 113116 - 91144 Tehran, Iran Telephone (98) (21) 6405 2000 http://ukiniran.fco.gov.uk/en/ Btw: UAE citizenship - not possible

A tourist has very few chances to get visa for anywhere. Your friend may have meant UAE residence ? and not citizenship! Same for Malaysia or Turkey. Best is to apply at British Embassy in Tehran.

im a 19 year old girl in college.........dont have a job YOU must support him after you are married. You must have income or a job. if you do not have any income then you will NOT be eligible to sponsor him. As to how long - assuming he will stay in Canada with you - the process usually takes between 1 and 2 years. (inside application) Once he graduates college, he can apply for a post-graduate work permit to get some work experience if he is not yet landed. I suggest that you contact the below yahoo group - they know everything about spousal sponsorship to Canada.

questions about university in turkey?

questions about university in turkey?
Merhaba! I would greatly appreciate it if you could answer my questions about undergraduate studies in turkey. I have addressed these questions to the Turkish embassy in my country’s capital, but while waiting for their reply, I would very much like to hear your answers as well. I am an EU citizen, but have lived in the Philippines for most of my life. I read that an Equivalence Letter (from the Ministry of Education of Turkey) may or will be be required before enrollment at the university. That is, a letter stating the equivalence of my high school diploma to a Turkish high school diploma. I am very concerned about this, because according to my Turkish friend, their high school curriculum is more advanced/rigorous than what we have here in the Philippines (we don’t study calculus in high school, for example)…. If my diploma is not considered equivalent, what can I do about it? Is there some test that I can try to pass instead? Second, I plan to apply to one university in particular: Boğaziçi University, in Istanbul. I hear its medium of instruction is in English; do the professors regularly adhere to that? (here, they often discuss in the local language to the students, as well as English). And, is Boğaziçi University considered a good university in Turkey? I have heard and read that METU is the best, or one of the best, and Boğaziçi University second or third…. If they were both in your city, at which university would you study a field in social science? Lastly, I would like to know if it is usually possible for a foreign student to have some sort of working arrangement with the university? Doing library work or office work, for example? I don’t guess it will cover tuition, but something to defray expenses would naturally be helpful. Thank you ahead of time, and sorry it’s so long ;)

Firstly i have to say i don't know the procedure of entering to a Turkish school for a foreigner, and if you have to pass the same entrance exam as the Turkish students here. But i guess if there's an exam for you,it should be a different one since your Turkish is not fluent i guess. Secondly, Boğaziçi and METU are to very good schools. But as you can see from the name, METU is a technical university. Therefore i can say Boğaziçi is better for a social science study. The language of the school is English. And advisers speak English. Moreover there are foreign advisers too as far as i know. And for your last question yes it is possible for the students to work. The website is http://www.boun.edu.tr/index_eng.html Try to send an email. If you can reach to the right person they will surely help you.

Foreigners take a different test, universities that accept foreign students have a specific quota for that. So, rules for Turkish students don't apply to you. If you are eligible for application to this test, you should come to Turkey in, I think, in April to take this test. Let me see if I can find more information. Edit: try this link for METU: http://www.international.metu.edu.tr/ You may contact student affairs for further information.

http://www.boun.edu.tr/announce/2007-2008_sat_yos_pre-reg_foreign_stu.htm http://www.oidb.metu.edu.tr/english/application/intadm.html There are some scholarships for students work for universities.

First, equivalence letter is needed but it's not related to the curriculum but just to say that your school is equivalant to our "lyceé". Then, you need to enter one of the YÖS, SAT, GCE, Tawjihi, etc. exams. Also, the medium of instruction is English in Metu as well. Bogazici is nearer to my hometown but I prefered Metu; although, my department wasn't a technical one. Because, you can gain more than vocational knowledge in Metu. You can work at the university library, take care of the children of Metu staff...If you wish, you can stay at the dormitories of the university. Life in Ankara is cheaper than İstanbul! Good Luck...
