My child only eats turkey sandwhiches for lunch and dinner?
Are there any side effects to this... my child is a college student so I can't inforce on what she eats since she's out of the house...but she doesn't get much from just a turkey sandwhich and for breakfast its always a bagel with cream cheese or an english muffin with peanut butter... what should I do???? this is not a phase of her's as most think... so she won't come to find out that she's getting "sluggish" because she could eat turkey sandwhiches for every meal

talk her int to health drinks

As long as she is eating dont stress about it. Some people just get in food ruts.

Well, if your "child' is a college student, then really the "child" is an adult. I would try not to worry. I would try to focus on other things. Why are you watching what your college aged child is eating? clearly, she's not anorexic. her choices seem fine. many college students survive on noodles. I think the bigger question here is why are you so fixated on this? Move on. She is an adult.
4 :
One college student + adult student at that = you can't do a thing about it. Just suggest to her and chat with her why she does this.
5 :
Hey! Don't worry about your baby. (Talking about being so attached. It's okay, though. We all pass through that) I would recommend for you to leave her. She is an adult, and she does get her nutrients, but with time. She will feel slugish. She'll notice this, and she can't stay with this food to long! :) Don't worry! She'll change!
6 :
try to get her to drink protein shakes.
7 :
tell her that u are concerned and u just wanna know why she wont eat anything else and maybe she'll tell u a reason and u'll feel better
8 :
English muffin + peanut butter is actually quite good for breakfast. You get carbs and protein and fat (some fat is good). It would be nice if she had a fruit or smoething in there but some people only have coffee for breakfast so she's a step ahead of them. Turkey sandwiches are also carbs and protein and if she adds cheese, there's dairy, and any lettuce ot tomato is fruit/veggie. Does she snack at all or is that all she eats? If thats all she eats then you should have a casual conversation with her and let her nkow you are concerned. If she eats otherwise, then she's fine and will probably change when she craves something else.
9 :
it could be a form of weight control. try talking to her about eatting right and weight issues.

I understand that it is difficult to let go and realize that your "child" is an adult, but she is. If you think back to those years in your life, you will most likely realize that you preferred very limited choice of foods to eat. You cannot do anything other than be supportive of her and offer her a variety of foods when she is home, in addition to those that she picks most often. She is eating protein, so that is better than if she were only eating all junk food or only lettuce or only rice cakes like some young ladies choose to do. This is the time of her life, when she will be learning to take care of herself, based on what she has been taught by you and her family. Good luck with readjusting to having a grown up child in your life. It is a big learning process. You will do more for your daughter by trusting her and letting her learn how well she will feel with certain food choices. She will learn. I can remember consuming a lot of cup a soup and boxed mac and cheese (the powdered cheese product which has never been near a diary farm....a chemical farm maybe....) and I quickly learned I had to eat a real meal and real vegetables once in awhile to feel my best and be my best. Good luck and I am sure you will both survive this learning curve with flying colors. Have a good day.

Well, I don't think I'll be getting a best answer outta this, but this topic just caught my eye. Your username is "healthyeater"?????????? It seems that you have a bigger issue with this than your kid. And your kid is in college? Good God man get a grip! And what should you do???? Let your kid eat without trying to control it. Sounds like finally they got outta your controlling influence and maybe discovered Turkey after some vegetarian regime and can't get enough turkey sandwiches. The kid is in college man. You are done. Now you can just be the person your kid jokes about behind your back with visitors and spouse, or you can possibly let go. Time to cut the cord. Let em live their life. Don't be the in-law that scares the kids. Don't be the in-law that makes em not want to come visit. And see a shrink, cause you seem to have more issues than your kid. Good lord who pays this kind of attention to what their college age kid eats? I'd be worried more about what drugs they are taking or the weekend bungee jumping they arent telling you about. Not to mention the parties and other benefits of college.

Yes you can apply to study for a MA in any of the 27 EU countries. But you have to pay international fees. Plus you have to prove that you have enough funds to support yourself while studying in that country.

I want to learn about the city in general, location of the school, people living there, accomodation, which lessons will be most beneficial as an exchange student from Turkey? In short, please tell me whatever you know.

I spent 2 years studying in Erfurt, but when it was still a Paedogoegishe Hochschule, not yet a university. The city is wonderful, I still miss it now. As with all cities, there are places to avoid going to (especially if you aren't white) but the town centre is clean, safe and has been largely restored since German unification. The uni campus is in the Andreasvorstadt part of town (the northern approach to the centre) opposite the main hospital and with good tram and bus links to the centre. As a foreign student you'll probably be put into the hall of residence "Wohnheim 6" (Wohnheim Sex, as we knew it...)which is just behind the new library. By German uni standards, it's ok, I lived there for 2 years and loved the atmosphere. You don't want to find yourself in Wohnheim 1, which is miles off campus and 3 to a room. You may have to share a room with another foreign student, and you may be able to choose who you want to share with if you arrive before the start of the semester. If you want someone who is fun and relaxed, pick a Belgian, if you want to party, pick an English student and if you want to study hard and go to bed early, pick a Czech or a Russian. You should have a large foreign community at the uni, we averaged 40 or so foreign students per semester when I was there. A lot of them are from the former Soviet Union and don't speak English, so you have to speak some German already to hang out with them. Take the Deutsch als Fremdsprache courses, my old professors are still running the same ones I did when I was there and they helped me greatly. Also if you like politics try to take at least one class with Dr Thumfart, and Dr May has a history class which is compulsory for students from Belgium, it's so good. The International students' office is helpful and Frau Linde and Frau Schloesser, the International Office staff, are both lovely (hope their English has improved, though...). Check out the websites below for more info (webcams on erfurt.de), and have fun. Wish I could go with you.

To give you the extra information you wanted about discrimination, Erfurt is one of the safest places in the former East Germany. I'm not sure if you're from Istanbul or Ankara university, but in both cities there must be areas that people don't want to go to? In Erfurt there are places to avoid especially around and beyond Leipziger Strasse and Magdeburger Allee (and around the main station at night, but then that's the same in every city worldwide), but in the centre you should be fine. The problem you are most likely to encounter is one of initial distrust, but be friendly and many people will be fine, even if they aren't used to speaking to foreigners. It's a much more cosmopolitan city than when I first went there in 1997; back then the only foreign language you heard on the street was Russian and most of the English-speaking population could fit into the largest theatre at the UFA-Kino for the English-language film on a Tuesday night...no-one spoke English in shops, restaurants or banks. It's changed a lot now, you even find English menus in some restaurants! Places I would suggest you avoid visiting because of possible violent discrimination: Magdeburg (the only place I ever felt unsafe in Germany, and I look German!), Rostock, Cottbus, Suhl, Saalfeld, Ruedolstadt. In these places unemployment is over 20% (sometimes nearer 30%) and foreigners are often seen as being to blame for it. An asylum hostel was firebombed in Saalfeld while I was in Erfurt, but that hasn't happened for a while now. Don't let a fear of discrimination worry you before you arrive; be sensible about where and when you go to places and you won't have any trouble. Places for a day trip (some such trips may be organised by the Uni, we had 3 or 4 when I was there): Eisenach (the Wartburg), Gotha (the Drei Gleichen castles), Weimar, Leipzig, Dresden, Coburg, Quedlingburg. Places for an overnight stay: Berlin, Bamberg, Kassel (the Wilhelmshoehe). One thing I forgot to mention: most German students go home for the weekend, so from Friday afternoon to Sunday night the foreign students are all together (they are always in the same residence, often sharing rooms or apartments). Even if you want to work hard all week, make sure you get involved with the foreign students at the weekend. To my mind, it's more important that you take the opportunity to mix with all the different nationalities at the weekend than it is to get good grades during the week. Lots of overseas students will want to organise trips to places, so tag along! Use the link below to research any of the other places I've mentioned here. You are going to a city that I love, where I would love to go back to and settle down. I hope you feel the same way about it when you have finished your stay.
