Turkish Study Abroad Programs for Foreign High School Students?
My younger sister is interested in studying abroad for a year of High School. Does anyone know a program accepting American High School students in Turkey?

I dont know honestly but I know what school she should go if she ever comes here. Btw it would be hard for an American student to study in a Turkish high school since ours are way harder. She should choose Robert Amerikan Lisesi (translated as Robert American College, College here stands for a private highschool so dont confuse), or Üsküdar Amerikan Lisesi. Btw u need to be paying for those 2 since they are private. But they are top notch schools, those ones are even hard to find around Europe.

Try AIESEC: http://www.aiesec.org We had an American guest student in highschool for one year and Turkish students went with the program, too. Needless to say, education language in our highschool was English. Edit: After reading Greeting's post, our highschool is a state school, i.e. free.

Apart from Robert College (www.robcol.k12.tr) and Üsküdar Amerikan (www.uaa.k12.tr), there are also British International School İstanbul, Istanbul International Community School, Kemer Schools (Canadian), MEF International School, The Koç School, Yüzyıl Işıl. www.bis.k12.tr www.iics.k12.tr www.kemer.k12.tr www.mefinternationalschool.com www.kocschool.k12.tr www.yuzyil.isil.k12.tr

I’ve been through to their website and did some research, but still it’s not enough for me. If one of u guys have studied, studying, planning to study, or probably know something about this university please let me know. Thanks!

I know it is not the exact answer you re looking for... Well I dont know much about that university. But the North Cyprus is a great place for students to live in. Nearly 10 % of the entire country's population are students so you can guess how important it is for them... Oh by the way; there are a lot more universities in N. Cyprus; if you wanna take a look i will give the names. Eastern Mediterranian University Neareast University Cyprus International University Girne American University

Actually there's no other go. You actually MUST travel abroad if you want to visit Turkey. You cannot make it domestic.

well she shouldn't be she should never be alone, my husband went to turkey last year for 4 months and its really dirty! he said you have to be careful what you eat, no open salad, no unbottled water, my husband is in the air force and he met a friend there, one day his friend took him to see a turkish movie and it was extremely anti American and everybody clapped at the end! tell her to be careful! there are not a lot of people over there who like America but they put up with us because we put food on there plates! My husband came back to the USA and kind of turned into a weenie, but he got Americanized again thank GOD!

Can any one help me or at least, direct me to where i can get a summer job in Turkey (preferably Istanbul)? I'm a student of Computer Engineering and I also have a diploma in Computer Engineering; I also design and develop websites for good- check www.htmlonlin.tk & www.khash.biz.ly for samples! Getting jobs as an undergraduate isn't very easy here. Even the web design jobs, unless you know someone, who knows someone who needs one!!! Get my point? Thanks anyways, I'll give it a shot!

I would have thought you could get work webdesigning anywhere, but... if you wanted a change I know you could sign up to teach English in Turkey. Have a look for some schools on the net to check dates etc.

If you are flying into Dalaman airport then you can purchase the visa there. They only accept £10 notes there though. Hope that's some help. I dont think you need to get a visa in advance.
2 :
Indonesian citizens are visa exempt for 2 months in Turkey. However; In order to be on the safe side, I would advise you to call the Turkish Embassy in Jakarta- Indonesia: Tel: (62-21) 525 62 50 - 526 41 43. or Turkish Embassy in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Tel: 00603 888 745 30- 00603 42 57 22 25-26. Hope it helps

See this link: http://www.mfa.gov.tr/visa-information-for-foreigners.en.mfa It says, Indonesian ordinary passport holders are required to have visa to enter Turkey. But I'm not sure if it is O.K to apply from Malaysia. Why don't you call and ask them? TURKISH EMBASSY in Malaysia: Address: 118,JLAN U-THANT 55000 KUALA LUMPUR Telephone: 00 60-3 42 57 22 25 42 57 22 26 42 57 21 19 Fax: 00 60-3 42 57 22 27 turkbe@tm.net.my EDIT: hey İpek, I didn't see you. : )

There are usualy positions available as research assistants or something like that. There are not as many positions as there are students wishing to work, so good luck.
